THE CITY OF MALIBU
As the Senior Environmental Program Coordinator for the City of Malibu, Ms. Cunningham developed a resiliency & sustainability program (community events, incentive program & action plan) and assisted with Emergency Operations for the Woolsey Fire, including fire debris removal coordination with FEMA, CalOES and LA County Department of Public Works, as well as COVID-19 Action Planning.
In addition, Ms. Cunningham managed the City's solid waste program, which included environmental compliance reporting, permitting, waste prevention, zero-waste programming, food recovery pilot, and policy development; she was also the lead for water & energy conservation programming and clean water regulations (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program, Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) program, Clean Bay Inspections).

The Malibu Foundation
At the Malibu Foundation, Ms Cunningham served as the Principal Investigator and lead author of Our Climate Crisis: A Guide for Social Communities in the Wildland Urban Interface. This report was the result of widespread collaboration among 25 Project Advisors from multiple public and private agencies and individual experts across the Las Virgines Community and Los Angeles County. Research assistance from UCLA and USC public policy and health policy students and climate scenario forecasting were provided by Burro Happold. The report was presented through Pepperdine University and to City Councils across the region.
